The Geary County USD 475 Board of Education is composed of seven voting members elected at large on non-partisan ballots and one appointed representative from Fort Riley who holds a non-voting advisory position.  The USD 475 Board of Education is a separate governmental agency apart from city and county government.  The Board of Education sets policies by which the schools operate and hires staff to administer those policies.
